April 8th is {open}’s 4th Street anniversary!
We can barely believe we’ve been here three years … it seems like we just got here!

We first opened on 4th on April 8th with an incredible show featuring Derrick Brown and The Blank Tapes, so it was only fitting that we celebrated the end of Year Three last Saturday night with a special show from Brown’s publishing company, Write Bloody. Along with Karen Finneyfrock, author of one of Write Bloody’s newest books, The Ceremony of the Choking Ghost, Vancouver’s CR Avery also took the stage and was beyond impressive with his unique and soulful blend of poetry, moodiness and beat boxing.
